A strange phenomenon is baffling marine biologists worldwide: perfectly circular formations appearing on the sandy bottom near Japan. These "pufferfish crop circles," as they’ve been called, are created by a group of pufferfish, specifically the Japanese pufferfish (Takifugu rubripes). The fish use their appendages to clear away the sand, creatin
